Discrimination and quantification of adulterated edible bird's nest based on their improved cohesion stable isotope ratios

Focusing on the high dispersion of stable isotope ratios (δ13C, δ15N, δ18O, δ2H) in edible bird's nest (EBN), a robust method was developed to simultaneously discriminate and quantify three types substances (sialic acid, egg white food gums) added separately into EBN. Results showed that by establishing data processing formula improve cohesion samples' ratios, discriminant achieved with an accuracy ranging from 88% 99%. With adulterated references, set up calculated Euclidean distance prediction ranged 95.80% 99.97%. Additionally, equations were building-up quantity content those EBN, satisfactory relative standard deviations within range 1.34% 6.31% (n = 6). By applying methods, two out twelve samples found adulterate 3.9% sialic acid 2.9% respectively.
